maudlin of the Well - Bath & Leaving Your Body Map - October 21st

The time has finally come to start placing your orders for this giant box set.  We are going to have the preorders go live on Friday October 21st.  There will be 2 different options to buy.  One will be the box set with all the goodies we've described before, for $75.  The other option will be with a maudlin of the Well shirt (there will actually be two versions as XXL shirts cost a couple dollars more).  These will be for $90 and $92 for S-XL shirts and XXL respectively.  The shirts will not be made available separately from the set, and we are only ordering enough to fill the orders that are placed.  The front design for the shirt is still being finalized, but the back of the shirt will be a replica of the original shirt released in 2001, of which there were only 100 made!  Here's the awesome "Part the First" design that will be on the back:

Please note that there is still a lot of headway to be made on this set, and we are only taking these orders this early in order to help fund it.  Think of it as you helping to make this set become a reality.  We will be posting pictures and progress updates as the production moves forward, to keep you all informed every step of the way.  We hope to have these ready to ship by the end of the year, but please understand that there are often delays in vinyl manufacturing and we cannot guarantee a ship date at this time.  That said, you will know where we are in the process at all times, and you will be making something truly amazing happen in the underground metal community!!  Thank you in advance for your support of this project.  Feel free to help us advertise the preorder date on any forums or blogs that you may be a member of or affilated with.  Remember that Antithetic is handling US & Canada orders and Blood Music is handling the rest of the world.

V. Eternal Depression Preorder is Live

V.

Veritas mons manet in aeternum
Treading vesicant water we devour the voice ov the eternal ocean ~Venator.
Descension into void and valley, marking our tracks to vanish from the “vein”
Viver in vacuo
We thrust vagility into the void – an invincible violence (invulnerable and viperine) – which we call a "man of cold time" (that who is vorpal).
Woes to the gathering of vehement violins whose vastness envelops the vorago and devours the sun.
Vincere Aquilonis
“Vivat” to the viduous willing.
“Long live” to the voice in the void.
May the darkest linger, Vocem in irritum, amble and sink.
And vulnerose…thrive across the velvet black.
Aeternaliter vivere in vacuo

V. Eternal Depression

 Preorder is now Live.

All the necessary parts and pieces have been assembled for the next Antithetic release.  This time we bring you a new 12" from the blackened crust masters Young and in the Way entitled "V. Eternal Depression."  This album is devastating.  The guitar tone is downright ruthless.  The vocals are scathing and brutal.  From the opening solemn piano, to the sound of a distant train that brings the album to a close, you will be absolutely pummeled by everything in between.  The band has pushed themselves harder than ever before, both as musicians and as song writers, and it is clearly evident here.  The music is both heavier and more experimental than any of their previous work.  "The Gathering", the nearly 12 minute B side track, is nothing like you've ever heard from this band.  Every member lends some additional percussion, and there are additional woodwind instruments and other sounds as well.  Again, this is nothing like you've ever heard from Young and in the Way before.

Some details on the pressing itself.  We're doing only 250 copies for this pressing, all on 200 gram vinyl.  The vinyl will be black with heavy white splatter and will be in a black poly-lined inner sleeve.  The packaging and artwork are beautiful.  It comes in an upgraded 350gsm heavy weight jacket with an embossed YAITW logo in the center.  Artwork assembled by the band's vocalist Kable.  Also features a two sided insert with additional art and lyrics.  All preorders will come with a screen printed logo patch as well.

The band will have these on their upcoming string of tour dates in late November.  If you aren't lucky enough to go to a show to see them, head over to the store and preorder a copy.  Preorders go live on Wednesday, October 12.  They will also be streaming the album in full on CVLT Nation that day.  I'll update this post with a link when its up.

Lastly, we are again doing a preorder contest/giveaway with this release.  For every item you purchase along with a copy of the V. 12", you'll get a chance to win the prize.  We'll be giving away a test press of the album, along with an original piece of art put together by the band.  I've been sworn to secrecy on the details of the art, but trust me, its going to be awesome, and fits well with the theme of the album.

Part the First

The first time I met the old man was in the Mansion at the edge of a forest of Starlight.  I was never fond of traveling there; the Stars would always sing to me like phantom nightingales, and their song was always sad and far away, as a dream.  And after meeting the old man and witnessing his demise, the songs chilled me ever more greatly, for I realized that just as Starlight is an aeon old, its song is even older.  They were a lament and an impending doom, and they knew the old man when he was just a boy.  He was so afraid as he sat and sipped his wine.  I remember that.  And his gaze was never wavered from the woman at the opposite end of the room, and she was watching him intently.  I began to notice that as he sipped from his goblet, he began to fade away.  I wanted to warn him of the apparent Poison that she had slipped into his steaming drink, but she had enchanted me with such nightmarish beauty that I could only watch in helpless terror and lust.  After he had faded completely, I found myself in the woman's Garden, where the only light came from giant blooms and stalks like dying Candles.  We made love that hateful night, and even now, I wonder if my sin was really what killed the old man an hour ago, and could it really be my daemon see that helped bring to life the horror that followed.
